Transportation sector

The term 'Transportation sector' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' An energy-consuming sectorthat consists of all vehicles whose primary purpose is transportingpeople and/or goods from one physical location to another. Included areautomobiles; trucks; buses; motorcycles; trains, subways, and other railvehicles; aircraft; and ships, barges, and other waterborne vehicles.Vehicles whose primary purpose is not transportation (e.g., constructioncranes and bulldozers, farming vehicles, and warehouse tractors andforklifts) are classified in the sector of their primary use'.
